Environmental Health and Safety Manager

Reports to: VP of Operations

Direct Reports - Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator



This position is responsible to promote and create the following:

  • A safe and healthy work environment
  • Manage and promote continuous improvement of occupational safety, food safety, environmental and sustainability systems.
  • Ensure adherence to environmental compliance, safety and governmental regulations
  • Identify and analyze problems and then formulate recommendations for improvement.
  • Oversee related programs and processes in conformance of company philosophies and business objectives.
  • Assess and implement improvements in the overall workflow.
  • Note: This position will work closely with the Quality and Process Manager as back up and eventually develop into a quality improvement position.

Duties, Responsibilities and Essential Functions

  • Develop, manage and modify (as necessary) environmental, health & safety, food safety systems including procedures, documentation, training, incident investigations and corrective
  • Lead the ISO 14001 environmental, health and safety management systems including: auditing, document management, corrective actions, procedure development Support and troubleshoot process design.
  • Manage and track company sustainability goals and
  • Resource for sales and customers relative to sustainability initiatives.
    • Lead and management of ISO 22000 food safety management systems including: auditing, document management, corrective actions, procedure development Support and troubleshoot process design
    • Perform workplace hazard and risk
  • Conduct and manage compliance programs and audits related to hazardous waste, air permitting, water pollution control and community right to know programs.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable Federal, State, Local and Corporate Environmental, Health and Safety regulations and Ensure regulatory reporting is prepared and completed on time
  • Provide training content and classroom style training for
  • Manage within budgets and resources for EHS
  • Develop and manage communications internally and externally with key stakeholders relative toEHS systems and initiatives
    • Stay current on industry research and developments related to EHS trends and
    • Manage emergency response procedures
    • Assume other duties as
  • Implement, maintain, and support all company policies and procedures, including safety and good
