Well established Kent-based production facility seeks Maintenance Mechanic Lead to supervise and coordinate the activities of mechanics, installers and repairers to manufacture product in a safe and productive environment.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Plan and establish work schedules and assignments of Maintenance personnel to meet organizational goals in consultation with the Plant Manager.
  • Assist the Plant Manager in the overseeing the Preventative Maintenance Program.
  • Responsible for keeping records of maintenance activities in log books or on other forms. Records must indicate all repairs made, parts used, analysis performed, and other related information.
  • Responsible for routine preventive maintenance to ensure that production and auxiliary machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of buildings is maintained and improved.
  • Provide work assignments, training, feedback, coaching, support, development opportunities and disciplinary action to mechanics.
  • Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment and skill of maintenance personnel.
  • Monitor maintenance personnel's work levels and review work performance.
  • Monitor tool and part inventories and the condition and maintenance of shops to ensure adequate working conditions.
  • Enforce and implement maintenance policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of 7 years experience in a lead position in manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of leadership experience and education.
  • Highly motivated person that is able to handle a high volume of work with accuracy in a fast changing environment.
  • Ability to be an independent thinker and find solutions to problems.
  • Must possess basic computer skills to include MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours as dictated by the job requirements.
  • Must be able to safely lift heavy objects as necessary or on a repeated basis
  • Knowledge and experience in the food manufacturing industry including HACCP, GMP's, Sanitation, Preventative Maintenance and Safety programs.
  • Knowledge of food manufacturing methods and equipment.
