Job Description

1. The primary responsibility of the Lead Framer is to safely direct all members of the framing crew in the efficient construction of wood structures.
" Maintain strict safety standards
" Communicate jobsite conditions to the Project Manager
" Accountable for all material deliveries
" Ensure jobsite security on an ongoing basis
2. Supervising the daily activities of all framing crew members and confirming all work is performed in a manner that is compliant with GCH standards and specs
" Preserve and maintain the job site in a manner that reflects positively on Green Canopy Homes and does not create safety hazards for other Subcontractors or members of the community.
3. Jobsite Safety
" Ensure framing crew compliance with all health and safety requirements
4. Notify the Project Manager of any potential deviations to the schedule, Change Orders, safety violations, and issues pertaining to the quality of work.
5. Providing onsite direction for Field Associates and contracted labor
6. Injury Reporting
7. Safety Compliance for Subcontractors
" Engage subcontractors, on behalf of GCH, as needed to ensure safety policy compliance
" Communicate immediately with Safety Manager regarding any issued compliance citations


1. Minimum of 5 years' residential construction framing experience required
2. Minimum of 1 year of experience supervising a residential construction framing crew
3. Demonstrated proficiency in reading architectural and structural plan sets
4. Ability to read and understand the project schedule
5. Understanding of the jurisdictional inspection process and ability to successfully pass inspections
6. Understanding of health and safety practices in residential construction required
7. OSHA health and safety training highly preferred
8. Demonstrated proficiency in using computers and mobile devices to perform work in the field
9. Aptitude for learning new construction technologies and practices
10. Must be highly organized and detail-oriented
11. High-degree of professionalism required with exceptional communication skills
12. Must possess a valid driver's license, clean driving record and reliable transportation for frequent travel between job sites during the day.
13. Ability to lift 50lbs
14. This is a non-exempt, full-time position, working primarily on job sites throughout Seattle with some time spent in our office for meetings. This position involves frequent movement, including lifting and carrying materials. Hourly rate for this position is $30-35/hour, depending on experience. After ten years in management and recruiting, Cindy wound up in the construction field by accident, and fell in love with the industry and its people. Working for a local general contractor her duties included everything from tracking down permits, to tying rebar, and throwing concrete. Cindy has a unique understanding of not only how each roll affects a project, but an appreciation for the dedication, and skill, the industry's people bring.
