JOB SUMMARY: Manages manufacturing operations through a team of functional and front line supervisors. Ensures increasing levels of customer and employee satisfaction while improving the efficiency of manpower, materials and machines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following – other duties may be assigned:
  • Meets targets in cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time performance.
  • Oversees and manages line stops, safety violations/accidents and chronic quality defects.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies through effective communications, coaching, training, and development.
  • Balances work cell / department capacity across the plant.
  • Provides leadership for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationships.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations.



  • Effectively supervises and manages staff and provides, by example and leadership, motivation and direction.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable state and federal employment laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training direct reports; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; coaching and implementing corrective actions; addressing complaints and resolving problems; and making recommendations regarding involuntary separations to the Plant Manager.
  • Ensures on-going performance feedback is provided to staff and conducts performance reviews in a timely and effective manner.
  • Acts as the key contact for assisting employees and in directing employees to needed information or forms.

                    Education / Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; and two to four years directly related experience, with increasing responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s degree (B.A/S.) in Business, Engineering or a related field or equivalent from four-year college or certificate program preferred. Minimum of two years supervisory experience required.
