Job Title:       Production Supervisor

Reports To: Plant Manager

Shift:           1st Monday – Thursday (occasional Friday) 7:00am – 5:30pm

 

Summary

The production supervisor is an integral part of the manufacturing process that will primarily be on the floor monitoring and maintaining safety, efficiencies and training.

 

This individual will be required to plan, schedule, assign work, implement policies and procedures, track training needs, monitor efficiencies, recommend improvements in production methods, equipment, training, operating procedures, working conditions and optimize day-to-day activities while minimizing costs.

Duties & Responsibilities

 

      • Must have effective employee relations skills; building a positive climate of mutual respect.
      • Provide employee coaching and development. Effectively make employment decisions.
      • Resolve employee issues through problem resolution or disciplinary action.
      • Balance quality, productivity, cost and morale to achieve positive results.
      • Track absenteeism
      • Continuously improve in areas; development of SOP’s and ISO.
      • Possess effective computer skills.
      • Familiar with production equipment and how it operates and capable of training on equipment and processes.
      • Manage departmental performance measures and feedback.
      • Communicate regularly with manager on departmental progress, employee issues and other concerns
      • including equipment and facility.
      • Assess all processes for efficiency, safety and improvement Perform accident investigations.
      • Manage departmental priorities, results driven.
      • Gather and track all affiliated paperwork. Provide regular progress reports to manager.
      • Understand proper procedures, documentation and quality requirements.
      • Monitor quality progress and time frames to ensure efficiencies.
      • Ensure all company policies are adhered to.
      • Perform production scheduling.
      • Ensure PJOs, batch tickets and required procedures are strictly followed.
      • Work/communicate with leads and employees to ensure goals are met.
      • Understand and adjust for changing priorities.

Working Conditions

Work is predominantly indoors. Some outdoor activity may be required. Temperatures may be ambient, some heating is available. Assisting other departments may be required. Repeatedly walking full warehouse distances. Be capable of lifting up to 40 pounds.

 

Education/Experience Qualifications

To perform effectively, the incumbent must have a high school diploma and practical experience of a degree. Must be able to follow instruction and remain productive in an unsupervised environment. This individual must also be proficient in basic mathematics, ensure that company procedures are adhered to, be familiar with departmental processes, and have effective computer skills.
