Production Supervisor - swing shift

Our Renton based client is seeking a Supervisor to coordinate the manufacturing of multiple product lines.

Supervision Responsibilities

  • Staffing, scheduling, attendance, production control, resource planning, training, and team building
  • Supervise 10-25 production employees
  • Schedule daily production based on the master production schedule and forecast staffing needs
  • Approve overtime and extra shifts to meet production requirements
  • Establish performance objectives and standards
  • Track employees’ performance; conduct reviews and document disciplinary actions
  • Serve as role model championing company core values, safety and Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Ensure proper safety measures are followed

Technical Responsibilities

  • Study and standardize processes and procedures to improve efficiency
  • Develop and oversee quality checks for all products
  • Oversee the safety program, ensuring safe work practices
  • Oversee the development and documentation of assembly labor records and machine cycles for each product
  • Manage the tracking of production labor, scrap, and rework
  • Prepare production reports, analyze results, and initiate activities to continuously improve key metrics such as utilization, efficiency, and first pass yield
  • Continually update knowledge of the production processes through research, practical experience, and lean principles
  • Work with engineers in the development of or testing of new products or methods

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with people at all organizational levels

Strong leadership and supervisory skills

Self-starter and ability to work in an ever changing, fast-paced environment

Strong team player with leadership skills and the ability to drive change

Lean Manufacturing principles to help eliminate waste

 

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED required; college degree preferred
  • 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with supervisory responsibilities
  • Computer skills required
  • MRP/ERP systems experience
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Outlook, Project, Visio)
