Project Shop Manager

Responsible for the activities associated with organizing and maintaining the manufacturing of products and services. Maximize staff schedules and logistic requirements while meeting or exceeding budget objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Directs and supervises the warehouse personnel and projects with the organization.
  • Works closely with leads in driving process improvement; insuring efficiency and effectiveness of the warehouse systems.
  • Active member of leadership and plant Safety committees.
  • Works closely with plant leadership, customer service, and sales to support optimization of production processes and minimize finished goods inventories, emphasizing a lean approach to operations.
  • Serves as a point of contact to the entire organization for in-house logistics activities and process improvement.
  • Analyze, modify and improve the warehouse layout to maximize storage and retrieval efficiency and emphasize Lean and 5S philosophy.
  • Initiates action to prevent problems, documents quality problems, contributes solutions to problems, verifies implementation of solutions and controls further processing when a problem is identified.
  • Coordinate projects within the organization: time frames, cost(s) associated, outside clients\resources and milestone check points.
  • Take action if non-conformance occurs - reestablish time line, escalate to level that can assist, work with customer for options.
  • Prepares management reports and maintains department production reports.

SUPERVISORY FUNCTIONS:

  • Directly supervise staff and major project’s; plans, schedules, assigns and reviews work and work timelines.
  • Approve all overtime and ensure that labor costs are within the annual budget.
  • Ensure that employees are adequately trained, equipped and motivated so that work can be accomplished in a safe, timely and cost effective manner.
  • Evaluates and supervises all department personnel within company rules. Counsels and disciplines employees.
