Responsibilities:

  • Qualified hands on CNC Machinist with exemplary manufacturing skills, a working knowledge and experience on a variety of CNC machines and controls, and a dedication to being part of a world class manufacturing team. 
  • Previous Knowledge of tooling, fixtures, materials and processes. 
  • Must have an understanding of the machinery (Mills and lathes).
  • Skilled with Solidworks and MasterCam.
  • Project coordinates and directs assigned production work center, preparing work schedules, expediting work flow and collaborating with Operations Manager to anticipate and resolve any problems related to safety, efficiency or quality.
  • Examines production processes and procedures for efficiency and accuracy, making recommendations for improvement.
  • Oversees production activities, ensuring adherence to policy and procedure and on time deliverables.
  • Implements training as required ensuring compliance with customer requirements and the Quality Management System.
  • Mentors and develops work center team, providing constructive feedback, sharing technical knowledge, and inspiring growth of other machinists, etc.
  • Can quote both AeroSpace and Commercial detailed reports.
  • Collects and synthesizes information from clients related to production, preparing diagrams, and reports for the organization.
  • Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
  • Measures, marks and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining.
  • Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
  • Observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
  • Confident with water jet system and understanding of programing.
  • Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications.
  • Can coordinate with welding team leads.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma, general education degree (GED).
  • Completion of manufacturing-related vocational training with 10 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be very detail oriented in his/her work ethics.
  • Ability to prioritize.
  • Possess good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Take pride in one’s work and accepts a level of responsibility for his/her professionalism and accuracy.
  • Project a friendly, professional attitude towards vendors and co-workers.
  • Ability to participate productively in a team environment.
  • Previous manufacturing industry experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of MicroSoft Products; Word, Excel and Email software.

Physical Demands:  While performing the duties of this position the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb/balance/kneel, reach, talk, and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, with assistance. The employee may be required to work in loud environments. Employee may be required to wear personal protective equipment for extended periods of time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, focus adjustment. 

 

Work Environment: A large percentage of work time is spent in a machine shop where temperatures vary from hot to cold. The environment may also include exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vapor from coolant, etc.
