Trailer Mechanic

Currently looking for a skilled Trailer Mechanic to fill an opening with a company in the Fife, WA area. Interested candidates should have 1 year of experience and a 2 year technical degree or 3 years experience in fleet maintenance and repair.


Responsibilities of the Trailer Mechanic

  • Perform required inspections and preventive maintenance on Trailers to maximize the safety, reliability, and cost efficiency throughout the life cycle.
  • Perform quality preventive maintenance inspections per company methods on all trailers.
  • Report write ups timely, efficiently and correctly the first time, diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repairs to manufacturer specifications; differential, suspension, electrical systems, brake systems, and lift-gate hydraulic and mechanical systems.
  • Welding with steel, aluminum, etc. for major “skin” body repair.
  • Document all work performed on Work Order (SAP) using Complaint, Cause, and Correction Format.

Learn & develop efficiency in all Maintenance Computer programs.

Requirements of the Trailer Mechanic

  • High school diploma or Equivalent
  • 1 year of experience with 2 Year Technical Degree or 3 years experience in Fleet Maintenance and Repair
  • Medium/Heavy Duty truck technical training 2 year school
  • Annual Inspector\Brake Certification
  • Working knowledge of Computer based diagnostic software
  • Current and Valid Drivers License, CDL-A
